Sigma Iota Rho Delta Xi Convocation and Induction

Friday evening September 12, 2014  Sigma Iota Rho Delta Xi Chapter hosted the 2014/15 academic year convocation and induction ceremony.

The program began with a history of the international honor society and its unique commitment to scholarship in the field of international studies and global affairs, given by SIR's Treasurer Alex Gimenez-Santana.

Following Mr. Gimenez-Santana, SIR's Vice President, Lynette Sieger, introduced the chapter's theme for research and learning projects:  Global Ethics and Policy: Post 2015 Development. In partnership with the Division of Global Affairs, Delta Xi Sigma Iota Rho will lead and participate in a series of events over the course of this year centered on post-2015 development dialogue. Events include:

Global Affairs Director Dr. Jean-Marc Coicaud then delivered the faculty speech, discussing the challenges of the nationalistic bent in international life and key issues of solidarity, justice, and good governance in post-2015 development.
